STARBUCKS customers looking to get their coffee on the go ran into problems on Wednesday.
Customers started reporting the app, which is used for mobile orders, early in the morning.
DownDetector reported the surge in problems during the 8am ET hour.
Customers took to Twitter with one user tweeting: "Starbucks app wasn't talking online orders this morning, had to use the drive through like some peasant."
Millions of customers rely on the Starbucks app to place orders and pay online.
Customers who encountered problems were able to place orders into their cart, and pick a store, but when it was time to place the order a message popped up which read: "Something went wrong on our end."

Twitter was flooded with frustrated Starbucks customers commiserating together.
One wrote: "Is anyone else's @Starbucks app crashing?"
And another replied: "I thought it was just mine OMG I was trying to use my stars."

Plus, a fourth added: "Hey @Starbucks what's going on with your app? This weekend it crashed over and over and I couldn't scan to pay in-store and today I can't mobile order."
Around 10:15am ET, we checked the mobile app and it was back up and running.
A Starbucks spokesperson told The Sun: “Earlier today, some customers were briefly unable to access the order ahead and pay feature in the Starbucks app.
"All functionality has been restored and customers are able to continue using the feature in the app. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

The Starbucks app is available for Apple and Android users to download for free.
You can use the app to earn stars through the Starbucks Rewards program.
The mobile app allows customers to order ahead, pay at participating locations or to track Starbucks stars and any rewards earned.
